After successful driver installation, Windows will re-enumerate the modem and it will show up in Device Manager-Modems rather than Ports. For example, in Device Manager, the MT9234MU-CDC-XR shows up as 'MultiMobile MT9234MU CDC-ACM-XR' and the MT9234MU-CDC shows up as 'MultiMobile MT9234MU CDC-ACM'. When you set up your GSM or voice modem in AVTECH’s Device ManageR, you’ll need to enter its COM port in Settings–>External Modems.
Before you attempt to check the modem’s COM port:
A. Plug the modem into a USB port on Device ManageR’s host system.
B. Install the most recent version of the modem’s drivers.
Then check the COM port by following these steps:
1. On Device ManageR’s host system, navigate in Windows to Start–>Control Panel–>System and Security–>System–>Device Manager.

2. In the Device Manager screen, double-click on Modems to expand the list.

3. Locate your modem and right-click on it.
4. In the menu that appears, select Properties.
5. In the Properties window, select the Modem tab.
6. You’ll see ‘Port: COMX,’ where X is the COM port number. In this example, the COM port is COM4.

7. To enter this COM port in AVTECH’s Device ManageR software:
– Navigate to Settings–>External Modems.
– In COM Port, click on the drop-down menu and select the correct one from the list. In our example, we’re selecting COM4.
